Today marks the date of Charlie "Bird" Parker's death, here is little tribute to his amazing legacy. This is my favorite Charlie Parker solo recorded back in 1942 with Efferge Warre on guitar and Litlle Phil Phillips on drums. A 22 year old Charlie Parker approaching perfection. This wild idea was made possible by the amazing Elliot Deutsch from the Youtube channel "Pandemonium Big Band" @Pandemonium Big Band . I came across of a delicious 5 part sax section arrangement he made for another saxophonist, and I had this idea in mind for years, so I reached out and he was so amazing to provide this amazing arrangement! Go and check out his channel, which has been so interesting to me and THE place on Youtube for Big Band stuff: https://www.youtube.com/c/Pandemonium... Many thanks to the musicians making it happen: -Timothy Pedone: Acoustic shroemp guitar -Gerry Reynders: bassically brushes and snare drums -Rob Vanspauwen: Walking that bass -Jorre Reynders: All saxophones, mixing, producing and solo transcription -Elliot Deutsch: (super) sax arrangement
