About me
Rob Vanspauwen (’78) is a Belgian guitarist and double bassist based in Bilzen.
He studied jazz guitar with Jan Formannoy at Conservatorium Maastricht (1999–2003), and later returned to complete a Master’s degree in jazz double bass with Philippe Aerts (2012–2016).
Between 2006 and 2015, Rob also worked as a freelance sound engineer and producer at Artsound Recording Studio in Houthalen-Helchteren, recording both national and international artists. While he is currently taking a break from engineering to focus on playing and composing, the mixing desk will surely call him back in the future.
Rob teaches guitar, double bass, electric bass, ensemble and music theory at Pentagoon Academie in Tongeren(www.pentagoon-tongeren.be).
He is also the founder of De Muzikanten (www.demuzikanten.be), a collective of professional musicians dedicated to bringing quality live music to any event.
Rob plays Acoustic Image amps and Raezer’s Edge speakers, expertly provided by Philippe Curatolo (www.AudioServices.be).
